For self-published books, you can best manage cost by seeking editorial help yourself.  You may already have identified someone in your peer review, or you may find an expert in your field through our forum.

We provide proof-reading services for all our authors, but use a network of freelance editors where necessary for royalty publishing arrangements to ensure suitable expertise.

Books which have been well edited do tend to be favoured by publishers’ review panels.
