About The Author Although born in America, David Kos immigrated to Canada in 1971 and became a Canadian citizen in 1980. He has taught English literature and English as a second language in the United States, Canada, Nigeria, China, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan. He has also worked in First Nations Education as a teacher, counsellor and administrator. But his two teaching stints in Vietnam changed his life personally, politically and creatively. Moved deeply by what he had seen during his time in Can Tho, in the Mekong Delta, he returned home to write The Desserts of War, his first novel. Currently he spends part of each year teaching and travelling in South East Asia and writing at his home on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. |
